Modern brick residence designed by Mariano Molina Iniesta, located in Las Rozas, Spain.
Description by Mariano Molina Iniesta
On a sloping plot with privileged views, we have been requested to construct a home primarily on one degree, through which the kitchen needed to be an impressive aspect. With these premises, together with the will to seize, so far as potential, the encompassing open area, the home was organized round two courts: one referred to as the solar patio, oriented in the direction of east and south, the place the pool is situated, and the shadow patio, dealing with north, extra intimate and casual; the kitchen serves as a connecting aspect, collaborating concurrently from each of them. The pool, reworked right into a pond, extends proper to its edge and goals to enliven it with a continuing play of reflections.
The dwelling space, which occupies the central place of the scheme, opens in the direction of the solar patio and revolves round an enormous hanging hearth, which defines two distinct areas. Surrounded by a skylight and an impluvium formed roof, at midday the fireside turns into a big lantern that illuminates the entire central space. Lastly, the bedrooms are grouped into two volumes which soar over the decrease a part of the location and dominate the panorama as watchtowers.
Constructively, tough textures and presence of matter have been sought: the dominant supplies are a barely granulated concrete under floor degree and masonry of handmade bricks above it. From the road, the latter seems as a considerably steady pores and skin, punctuated solely sometimes by lattices made from the identical sort of brick.
